1st Haircut

So we decided not to let his hair grow long and we gave him his first haircut yesterday. It was a mess as he was scooping cut hair into his mouth and trying to take away my scissors. All day today I have seen parts of his hair that are not even but overall I think it was successful. I should have had it done professionally, but I don't think they could have done any better.
Jayden had his one year appointment today and that meant a lot of shots. He has done good so that makes me happy. Colby came to the appointment with me so that he could hold him down, there is only so much a Mom's heart can take and I don't do good with shots. Colby said he would do it as long as he got to be the good guy afterwards, that was OK by me. He weighs 27 lbs. and is 32 1/2 inches long. The Doc said that usually a kid will start slowing down about now so we will see what happens next time. He is getting more active. He now does a little happy dance when he is excited and of course how to shake his head no!

Sledding Time

Our cute snow bunnie, he could hardly move!

Sledding with Dad

Happy one minute.....

...mad the next :)

It snowed about 6 inches on us Tuesday and Wednesday so we went sledding with Jayden for the first time. The Higbees have a great hill in their yard so we went there. He liked it but got cold pretty fast. He fell in the snow once and couldn't understand why the white stuff was so cold. We are practicing for when we are in Utah for the holidays, I hope it snows there by then.

Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. We sure ate alot and got to see a lot of people from the Branch. We ended the night at Tori's (a gal in the complex) with pumpkin creme brule. I hope I spelled it right. It was a great day. We missed family and friends and hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. All our love and best wishes.

Tagged!

So I was tagged by Amy for this, here are the rules.

1) Go to your pictures
2) Go to the fourth folder
3)Post the fourth picture in that folder
4) Tell about it and tag 4 people

This picture is from a camping trip we went on with people from our branch last fall. I was pregnant with Jayden so I didn't shoot and stood far off because every time they shot, Jayden would kick like crazy. We didn't stay the night but had a lot of fun. Colby still goes shooting whenever he can, there is a great range close by. We have even gone on a date shooting, we might belong in West Virginia after all :)
I was worried about what the picture would be, this one isn't bad! I am not in my P.J's or something like that. So now I have to tag four new people to do it. Here goes....
Kristine Hess
Anne Tew
Jennifer Madsen
Nicole Wooten
You lovely ladies are tagged.

Happy Birthday Jayden!

At his party opening gifts from some great friends.

Attacking the cake, he is trying to crawl out of the highchair. He decided he was done!

More cake.

Walking carrying his bubbles, he carries them around the house.

Jayden's Birthday was Wednesday and he opened some gifts but Colby had a night class so we had a party for him on Thursday. I made a car cake and had people from the branch and Colby's class over. It was fun, the cake was funny because he had a hard time getting into it. His hands were dirty and he couldn't figure out why I wasn't cleaning them off :) He got a good bath and then we opened gifts. He played with all of his great new toys today and loved it. He went from one to the other.

We had family pics taken yesterday and Jayden had an awakening. We let him walk around at the mall and he LOVED it. He walked and walked and walked. He kept looking back and would walk faster if he saw us coming. He was walking in and out of stores, touching all windows and mirrors and had a lot of people cooing over him. He loved it and now he is walking everywhere. So....I can finally say Jayden is walking. Yeah! But...I won't let him down at the stores without Colby with me or unless I want to chase him like crazy.

Oh here is a picture of the cake, for my Mom.

Halloween

The kids in the branch, so cute!

Jayden with the Plymale kids.

Our little ninja warrior.

Karate kid ain't got nothing on this crazy one!

It has been awhile since my last blog. I am finally starting to feel better and can think about getting things done I have been putting off. Halloween was a lot of fun. We dressed Jayden up and went out to people's homes that we knew. We got plenty of candy and had a rough night that night with Jayden because he ate so much candy and didn't want to go to sleep! Now we are eating his candy! He was cute, loved wearing the costume and laughed when he saw himself in the mirror.

This last weekend we went to Morgantown and hung out with our friends Matt, Amy and Grant there. Colby and the guys went to a WVU game. They were behind 20-7 so they left and when they got to their car WVU had tied up the game. They were sick but made themselves feel better when WVU lost in OT. They left too early! Amy and I watched the kids and had fun in the warm house.

Jayden turns 1 tomorrow. I can't believe it! We are having a open house party for him on Thursday night. It will be cars and trucks as the theme. He loves wheels! So I guess I will give him what he loves. I can't believe how fast time has gone. He sure is fun and walking like crazy, now he loves to walk while carrying something in each hand. He gets so excited. His other new trick is to push his stroller up to the different doors and try to open the door handles. What a goof! I shouldn't let him do it so he doesn't learn how.

Proof!

Embarassing!

OK, I don't have any new pictures but I had to share my funny story. Today I got home from a R.S. Retreat and so Jayden has been a little clingy. After his bath I was downstairs picking things up and getting ready to put him in bed. He crawled over and likes to climb my legs, the only problem is that I was wearing elastic bottoms and when he pulled the pants went down. I was bending over trying to release Jayden and get my pants up when I saw the car lights. Jayden earlier in the month broke several slats of our blinds and so we have quite a hole right where my bum was bending over and showing the neighbor when she pulled in. I hope it was her, if not I will die even more. I guess we are closer than I thought. Oh what a day! Just thought I would give you a good giggle!

Exciting News

My cute pirate.

Doesn't he look so big, I can't believe how fast he is growing.

Jayden having his first chocolate chip cookie, he loved it!

So we have some news, Jayden is going to be a big brother. We are really excited and can't wait for May 5th. I am about 10 weeks along and doing good. I have been a little sick but I got some medicine this week and it has helped a lot. Jayden likes having me back. We continue to pray for all to be well. I was tested and found out that my Rogam shot (for being RH negative) did not work after Jayden was born. Because of that, my body has produced antibodies against this little one. There is no threat till 20 weeks and older. I am tested monthly right now and we think all will be well. Thanks for everyone's love and support.

Lucky Bunny

Jayden and Lucky downstairs at the end of the day.
Again, Jayden and Lucky. He gets so excited he has to show him to me.

Jayden with Lucky upstairs playing before his nap.

So attached to Lucky he won't even give up his hand to hold the bottle!

O.K. So when I was in an accident when I was younger I was given a bunny that I always kept by me in the hospital. I named it my lucky bunny. It is soft, got an outfit of navy and pink floral with a lace ruffle. I have kept it by my side since then I consider it well, Lucky. It has been safe in my nightstand till....Jayden. He found it and hasn't given it up since. It started where he would just pull it out and then at the end of the play time I would put it back. Then it was the first thing he would go for when he woke up and crawled into the bedroom. Now I have given up and it is in his crib or in his hands. The pictures included are during one day, at nap time, while upstairs and then again downstairs. Is it silly for me to be worried that Jayden loves his ruffled lucky bunny? :)

Things are going well. We are doing good and are happy. Jayden has taken his first few steps, he gets so excited that afterwards he looks at us so we will clap our hands for him. Of course, everytime I try to videotape it or take a picture he will not do it. One of these times it will happen! As far as us it is church and school. Pretty much every other bit of us is for Jayden. I am going on a Relief Society retreat on the 17-18th of October. Colby gets Jayden for overnight and I am so excited to go have some camping fun. Keep you posted!

Cool September

His bright smile, he really wanted to get me to give him the camera.
The stairs he has conquered, heaven help us all.
Playing outside.

Jayden after his bath getting ready to wrestle us so that we can't get his diaper or PJ's on.

He loves baths!

Playing in the rain, he loved every minute of it.

It has been a tough week. Jayden has been teething pretty bad, several at once, and he now has a bad cold. We can't keep the kleenex close enough. Poor guy. We had given him medicine that made him loopy and he feel today and cut his chin. I feel horrible! He is our joy and we are having a blast. Colby had a tough test today, he did well. We are just going through the routine hoping for a slow winter to come.

Crazy Days

On a walk.

The door is so tempting for him.

Our piano star. Thank you, thank you very much.

This shows his teeth.

It has been raining the last few days and Jayden and I are going pretty house crazy. Good luck this winter! At the same time Jayden is teething pretty bad. When this is over he will have 8 teeth. Obviously he is learning how to use his teeth and is leaving his mark on his books, binkys, CD covers, etc. He has also learned to use his hight to explore things. The pictures show him at the piano, the front door, he can now open my bedside table and pulls out all my chapsticks! Never a dull moment.

Colby is busy at school. His classes are pretty intense and last week he had to do 15 hrs. in our clinic care. He has a dermitology book that he keeps trying to find new pictures in to gross me out, it works :) He is leaning towards something exciting in the field, the clinic was pretty slow. Colby and I have a babysitter this weekend, what are we doing? We are going to the adult session of stake conference. It is a great cheap date.

So I have been thinking politics lately. I wasn't too excited about either canidates and I was thinking about not voting....Colby was shocked. But, I really like Sarah Palin. I don't know why but a Mom of five can do anything! The sass she has too is pretty fun. Is it bad to vote for a president because you like the V.P.?

Labor Day in Ohiopyle

This is Baby Grant, Amy, Jayden, Abby, Ashton, Liz and Brooklyn. The guys didn't want to be in the picture.

Jayden didn't like the cold water. He would cling to Colby when he tried to put him in.

Here is the slide and the girls going down.

Colby and Matt on the bike ride.

This is Grant and Jayden getting ready for the ride. For the first few minutes Jayden kept trying to touch him. Grant was pretty cool about it.

This Labor Day was a lot of fun. We went with some friends to Ohiopyle state park in Pennsylvania. It has bike trails, a river to swim and a natural rock water slide. First we all went on a bike ride, the trail was great and Jayden rode in a bike trailer with his bud Grant. We then had a picnic and went swimming. The swimming didn't last too long because Jayden didn't like the cold water but he liked the part where he got to crawl around in the sand and dirt. I don't think he swallowed too much! Then we hiked to the water slides and the adults took turns going down. You had to push yourself down sometimes but it was fun.

So Jayden has a new thing. He tries to talk and grunt and he sounds like he is speaking Chinese. He even waves his arm when talking so that you know he is serious. It is so fun. One of these times I am going to actually catch it on camera.

Sunday, August 31, 2008

So I am back on New York. On day three we headed for Niagara Falls. It was quite a long drive but fun. It was amazing that we all fit in the vehicle with all the luggage and people. We had fun at the border to Canada because Grandma forgot her passport in her suitcase, the lady was not very patient with us :) We checked into the hotel and then went to the falls to watch the fireworks. Grandpa counted the fireworks and said there were 260. He said the fire shows in Utah are better because there are a lot more fireworks but being over the falls was pretty neat.

The next morning we walked along the falls in the morning and then headed off to New York for the church sites. After we checked into the hotel Grandpa wanted an Arbys and we couldn't find one. We found one at a food court in the Mall, Grandpa liked that because we could each get what we wanted. I still can't drive by an Arby's without smiling and thinking of Grandpa. After that every time we drove by an Arby's Grandma would look back at us and urge us to be quite about it. That evening we went to the Sacred Grove. What a peaceful place, almost like a temple in the woods. The spirit is strong there and you can't help but wonder what it would have been like to be 14 and be in Joseph Smith's place.

So the next morning we had a contenental breakfast. I have to mention the coffee talk ladies. I don't know if you every watched Saturday Night Live and watched the Coffee talk skits but there was a group of ladies at breakfast that fit to a tee. They had the Brooklyn accent and seemed to have smoked a lot of there lives. On lady with orange nails said, "My new shoes are so comfy I can hardly tell I got them on." Another lady with brite lipstick said, "I am so glad she got implants, they were falling down the stairs." Carl and I were laughing so hard we could hardly eat. We then drove to save seats for the pagent and went to the Smith Log Home then the BOM printing press. I enjoyed those a lot and learned a lot, I realize I could spend more time learning about early church history. I liked the Peter Whitmore farm the best, I don't know why but the spirit touched my heart while I was there and it hit me how much of a miricle the church is. The pagent was awesome and a lot of fun!

The next day we headed to Pennsylvania to see Melvin, Katherine and Caleb. There place is great and it was so fun to see them. Melvin drove into the garage wearing black leather and riding a bullet bike! We had fun talking and seeing how they are doing. Thanks guys!

We had to leave the next morning. I dropped everyone off at the airport and they rushed off quickly but overall I think it was a great success and a great trip. If anyone else wants to come out we will do it again with you!

I hope everyone had a great Sunday!
