The next few weeks

So the following story will be great birth control for those who do not have kids yet or are not sure when to have the next one, funny to those who are finally past this stage, or pity and sympathy from those with young ones.

It had been a ruff night, I had finally made it to sleep at about 3 a.m. because she was so fussy she wouldn't stay asleep. At about 7:15 a.m. Jayden wakes up, but not in a good mood. He is screaming. So he wakes up Kylie and me. I go get Jayden out of the crib and he continues to cry for almost an hour. I am thinking of EVERYTHING to make him stop! I finally think he is calmed down enough to eat breakfast. First of all he gets mad when I give him the wrong cereal, so I fix it. Well he takes about 4 bites and then takes the bowl of cereal and throws it while he decides to start screaming again. I put Kylie down, clean up the mess and he continues his tantrum. He starts to get destructive and shakes Kylies packnplay that she is in and wakes her up again. As I am comforting her she has a major blowout that comes through her clothing. As I am cleaning her up I decide that she needs a bath. Jayden is in the bathroom and while I am bathing her decides to start throwing his bath toys in the tub. Kylie does not get hit due to a few good saves on my part but as I look over I see several of Kylies diapers floating in the tub and Jayden laughing while he tries to put in another one. After she is dressed, I decide to put him in his room and I shut the door so that I can breathe for a minute. It finally gets quiet and I am feeling pretty proud of myself. I go to let him out and I find that he has emptied the bottom two drawers of Kylie's dresser. When he comes out he realizes that I am not holding Kylie so he wants to be held. He finally calms down. I look at the clock thinking that it must be close to lunch time by now, nope! It is only 9:30 a.m.!

I think I cried then pressed on! The next day we were getting family pictures and Jayden wasn't happy then either. We put him in the cart to push around and when we weren't looking he decided to climb out and fell and chipped a tooth.

I tell myself that I will make it! Life would be boring if there weren't stories like this to tell!

So, she was two days late but she is here and that is what matters. I went to the doctor on Wednesday morning and begged for him to induce. He agreed and we went into the hospital that night. Surprise, when they checked I was already at a 4 by that morning and she arrived at noon on the 7th without any help (except an epidural, I am only human!). I don't know how to answer if people ask if I was induced. It was a great delivery and we feel she is such a blessing, she is beautiful in every way to us.

She was 8 lbs. 3 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long. She has a lot of dark hair that we hope she keeps and long fingers and toes. At this point, her and Jayden have a love/hate relationship. He is fasinated by her but a bit jealous. If I hold or feed her he wants to be on my lap or he does something that gets my attention. He loves to give her kisses and loves to show me where her nose is!

Yes, I am tired. It is a rare moment when Jayden and Kylie nap at the same time but Colby has been a great help! My parents came out and helped soooo much as well. I couldn't do it without them all. Thanks for all of the love and support we have received!

I walked into my bedroom one morning and Jayden had dumped out all of my clean laundry that was in the hamper, had gotten out my box of nail polish from under the bed, and was sitting in the basket playing with the bottles. It was so funny and cute!

So Jayden has learned about dipping foods. Now our only problem is not letting him dip his fingers in the dip and then rubbing them on his head. He looks like he is bleeding but it is just ketchup!

The weather has been so awesome the last few days. We have been in the high 80's and so we have been living in the back yard and at the parks. He loves being outside and he sleeps really good after playing so hard. He will roll down the hill, play with his 4-Wheeler or throw his ball. I can't do much so I sit on a blanket and cheer but he doesn't seem to mind. The neighbor was mowing their lawn the other day and that entertained him for a good 20 min.!

So I don't know what it is about cars, but we tend to not have much luck with ours lately. We thought our Impala was falling apart. The left turn blinker has a hard time turning off, everytime it rained our back seat floor was flooding and then our radio quit working. This happened all within a week. We didn't know what to do and then remembered in October we had changed our windsheild so we set up an appointment with them to see what is wrong. Come to find out there is a seal, not linked with the window, but by it that drags the water to drain by your tires. It was just "floating" there. The guy said that without it set up to seal, it was putting the water into our filter and causing it to drain in the car. What he wouldn't admit was that it was likely that he was the one that left it "floating" after he changed out our window. With that fixed we came home and started to wet/dry vac out the water. The next time we started the car, we heard a pop and then our radio started working again. I guess the water was doing something with our radio, or Heavenly Father knew we couldn't afford a radio right now and knows I can't live without one in the car! Tender mercies :)

So, our blinker is still not working but the car saved itself from being traded or sold or kicked or scrapped.....! Uugh! Colby is the man for being patient and figuring things out!

I want to thank everyone in the Morgantown 2nd ward for an awesome baby shower. It was a blast and I loved sharing it with Katie. Every Sunday I check to see if she is there and it has been fun to compare and relate. It was a Hawaii theme and with the costumes, decor and food it was great. I got a lot of great gifts and want to thank Amber for heading up the design and making of a beautiful quilt! I know I missed some people in my pictures, I am sorry! If anyone got other pics taken, please forward to me. Thanks gals!

One week to go!

So, I crave sweets so bad this time around. When I was pregnant with Jayden I couldn't handle any sweets. My favorite right now is Dr. Pepper, Cheetos and Chewy Chips Ahoy. Jayden loves my cravings and Colby took a picture of me sharing my cookies with Jayden. Two crazy people!

The pregnancy is going good. I have my last appointment tomorrow and then a stress test on Thursday. I guess I am still measuring a little small so they just want to make sure everything is going good. My parents fly into Pittsburgh on Thursday and they will be staying till May 11th. I am so excited, I can't wait! They are coming early so that Colby can commute to Philippi and spend all the time he needs for finals that are, of course, the few days before my due date :)

Jayden can tell that something is changing. When I start doing things to get ready for the baby, it seems that he either acts up or wants me to hold him. When I ask him about baby he pats my tummy but I don't think he understands very well yet. The funniest thing is that right now Jayden has found out about belly buttons. He doesn't understand why mine is so different from Daddy but it is funny to see his face as he tries to figure it out!

Yeah! Colby did it! We are so proud of him and were so excited to reach this stage. On Saturday, April 4th, Colby was pinned. This is like in nursing where it allows him to work with patients. He still has his rotations to complete, they start in May, but he has passed his classes and can now officially work under a doc to help treat. What a path to get here, but Colby loves it and has done so good!

The time is getting close. Our little girl will be here in about 4 weeks. We still don't have a name but promise she won't be without one by the time we leave the hospital! We are excited and nervous. OK, I am more nervous. I was not blessed to be one of those women who "forgot" everything from last time, but... I do understand the rewards better and know it will be well. Jayden will finally pat my tummy when I ask him where baby is so I hope he is starting to understand. He gets more of a personality all of the time. He says, Here you go, thank you, hot, apple, stinky, Daddy and of course No. He won't call me Mom but calls me Shell. The other day he got in the toilet and I said, Jayden! and he looked at me and said, "Shell"! Not a boring moment!

This last week was spring break for Colby so we decided to go and visit Kirtland, OH. It was only about 3 hours away and our last stop for seeing all the church sites. I loved it and felt the spirit. The missionaries were great and had some good stories to tell along with the history. The weirdest part was the temple. Touring it they mainly talked about the structure, not the many miricles and visitations that occured there. It was sad but it just felt like a building.

That night was ate seafood and a place by the lake called Pickle Bills. It was good but we now know that Seattle seafood is better than lake fish. Sorry to anyone who feels different. The next day we went to Lake Erie, it was a lot of fun. Cold, but fun. Jayden loved it and played in the rocks and chased the birds. We then went to the Johnson farm about 30 miles away. It is where the prophet received the revelation for the 76 section of D&C. The spirit was strong there and we were glad we made the trip. It was fun to have several younger couples that were students as well go through the sites with us.

Colby is back in school today and I already miss him! Oh well, I guess I should be used to it :)
